10 Wii U Games I Want on Switch (NO SMASH ALLOWED!!!)

UPDATE: #1 CAME TRUE!!! I knew this was gonna happen, and we get a brand new third game to go with it. DREAMS COME TRUE, and don't let anyone tell you different.  P.S. The follow-up to this list (Games I Don't Want Ported) is coming soon. Also 2 Year-End lists, Micro Review, and a Totally Off Tangent are coming soon as well. So I hope your excited for Bayonetta 1-3 on Switch and I hope you stay tuned. There will be more where this came from.

While the Wii U wasn't the success story that Nintendo wanted it still had a lot of good games that I loved and I thought deserved some new life on Switch. So I wanted to put a list of games that I thought truly deserved a port to the Nintendo Switch. That proved to be harder than I thought.

The ultimate issue with making this list was a combination of either Nintendo/Third Parties porting the games I wanted before/after I made a list (ex. MK8 DX), or they make games similar to games that were on Wii U. (Fire Emblem Warriors) Its also a little hard to think of whether a game should get a port or a full-fledged sequel. (Splatoon 2)

You can start to see an issue with making this list when the people you want to help make said list come true...
...make the list come true before you even finish the list.

With all of that said, I feel like I finally made a list of games that were originally on Wii U that would be awesome to port to Switch. I think for this list I need to point out that these titles aren't in too much of a particular order. So dear readers, this is...

TOP 10 Wii U Games I Want on Nintendo Switch
(No Super Smash Bros. Allowed)

10) Zelda HD Remakes - This entry was made for two reasons 1) Without it this would've been a Top 9. 2) With the popularity of Breath of the Wild having these two remakes on Switch would help bring in more fans who want some classic Zelda gameplay that differs from the new open-world game that was BOTW. It gives variety by having three different types of Zelda games. The real downside here is that the games are already remakes on Wii U so honestly this idea sounds a bit redundant. Its not an idea I appose though.

9) Tokyo Mirage Sessions #FE - While I'm not the biggest Fire Emblem fan, and I know that there is one in development for Nintendo Switch this title, like every title here, just makes a lot of sense to do a straight port with all the extras included. (If there were any, I don't know for sure) Not only does it offer a fun ATLUS RPG for Switch but again it helps give a variety of games for the FE series on Switch. As I said, they are making a FE game for Switch already, but unlike the Zelda Ports this game is vastly different from normal FE games where the Zelda ports still have some similarities to even BOTW. Plus, J-pop... I don't know if that helps my case at all, but hey.

8) Super Mario 3D World - This game is a little more difficult in a porting sense, but it's still a good choice in my eyes. The Joy-Cons seem built for this game and the New Super Mario Bros. Series in mind. Not to mention, the multiplayer aspect of this game fits really well for Switch. They could bundle both this game and Captain Toad together for a "Deluxe" game experience, or implement Local Play for multiple Switches and that could help with some of the touch screen levels. Speaking of, the gamepad feature is the only one that creates a bit of an issue because of how some levels required it, but I do feel that's an issue that can be easily solved. (i.e. Make the levels optional or delegate those actions to buttons when not in handheld mode) Between the two types of series, 3D World has the better Multiplayer experience to me and I think its worth a port on Switch.

7) Pikmin 3 - This game was already visually stunning on Wii U, so imagine a Switch version of this game running with the power from the Unreal Engine. Like Zelda & Mario, Pikmin is one of those games whose adventure you get really addicted to, so having it on the go offers the same fun just like those games. Pikmin 3 probably is going to get a sequel on Switch rather than just a port on Switch, which is just fine, but I still think it would be worth the port.

6) Star Fox Zero - The only game here that can be heavily improved on Switch because it can be ported. While I personally thought the game was pretty fun I know that it had some issues especially on how the flying controls were handled with the gamepad. However, The Switch Controls fit for this game as not only does it have motion controls it has the traditional layout so you stuck with one option. Mainly, this port idea works mainly for bringing Star Fox on Switch, but it is WAY more likely we'll see a sequel.

5) Xenoblade Chronicles X - This is honestly self-explanatory. The game was well received on Wii U, it doesn't have crazy gamepad controls, and with Xenoblade Chronicles 2 coming out it only makes sense to just port the game. That's pretty much all I got. Next...

4) Super Mario Maker - Obviously making your own Mario levels is one thing, but doing it on the go is a whole different concept. While Nintendo explored this concept on 3DS, it lacked a lot of the features seen in the Wii U. With the Switch, the fact that it is a home console means that it won't lack on its content. While it may be possible we would see a sequel, Super Mario Maker has had substantial game updates before without the need of a sequel. So a Deluxe Edition of Mario Maker for Switch done similarly to MK8D would be a worthy addition to the library.

3) Hyrule Warriors - This is, again, very self-explanatory. With the release of Fire Emblem Warriors on Switch a port of this game with all of the DLC included only makes sense. Not to mention it adds variety to those who like the Warriors Series games. Not much to say here, although I do want to see this on Switch more than the Zelda HD Ports.

2) Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze - Shortest explanation ever. (Yeah Right...) The game did amazing and is amazing all Nintendo would need to do is port the game and that's it. The game is fun to play, visually its very good, and this would help build DK's Representation on Nintendo Switch. This would be a perfect fit on Switch even if there was a sequel. However, there is one game that I think deserves a port a little bit more...

Honorable Mentions - Zombi U (They tried this on other consoles, didn't work out too well), Paper Mario Color Splash (Definitely going to get a sequel over a port), Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker (Just bundle it with SM3DW), New Super Mario Bros. U/New Super Luigi U (SM3DW seemed better), Kirby and the Rainbow Curse (Kirby's already coming and this game had too much Gamepad support), Yoshi's Wooly World (Yoshi's already coming and it is a little too similar from the looks of it), The Wonderful 101 (Again, too much Gamepad support, however it does have that good hack n' slash fun), Runbow (It's getting ported? Really?! See this is why this list was so hard to make...) Ninja Gaiden 3: Razor's Edge (Very good hack n' slash, I just think that its a bit too late for the game to be on Switch)

1) Bayonetta 2 - Bayonetta 2 was outstanding on Wii U. I enjoyed every minute I played of this game
and even just the demo alone. Not only would this intense action game fit so well on Switch; it would build up the Switch's Hardcore "M" rated audience, Bayonetta would get representation on this new console, and even if they were planning Bayonetta 3 you could still port this game along with the first Bayonettta Game and have an entire trilogy of awesome action games to take with you on the go. This is one game that I truly believe needs to ported to Nintendo Switch.

So this is just my list, but I want to hear your thoughts. What Wii U Games do you want to see ported to Nintendo Switch? What game do you NOT want to see ported? Leave your thoughts in the comments below. Thanks for reading and there will be more where this came from. Catch you guys later.
