TOT: Top 10 Hatsune Miku Songs

Today I'm going off tangent to talk about one of the most powerful forces on the face of this earth... the power of music! Specifically Vocaloid music.

I'm actually a huge vocaloid fan. I love listening to music from Rin & Len, Luka, GUMI, and of course Hatsune Miku. So today I thought I would go the Watchmojo route and make a Top 10 List.

A few rules for this list: Hatsune Miku Only - These are solo songs sung by Miku herself. No help from other Vocaloids. Sorry Matryoshka & World's End Dancehall. Another thing is that the songs here are, for lack of better words, "legit" songs. Songs that would actually end up the radio or you would be more likely to put on your mp3. Sorry Ilevan Polka and PoPiPo :( With that Out of the way...

These are my Top 10 Hatsune Miku Songs.

If you want to hear these songs for yourself, I will put the links to them on the list.

10) Age Age Again/EAZY Dance

I put these songs in a tie for a two reasons. One, because both are upbeat songs that bring a smile to my face. You can't help but laugh and feel happy with these songs. Age Age is faster than EAZY, but EAZY is a little more smoother in its music and easier to dance to. I honestly had issues with saying one is better than the other. However this leads me to the second reason they're in a tie. They were made by the same composer, Mitchie M, who makes a lot of good upbeat vocaloid songs that sound so happy. Both of these songs earn this spot, but they are more "cute" to listen to. Hence the #10 spot.

9) Two-Faced Lovers

I'm not the only one who hears the Mario Kart countdown in the intro, right? Nevertheless, this song is very uptempo and very fast. It's interesting to listen to rhythms and speed of the song as it goes on. This song, if you like to look at the music videos, has interesting visuals with the gray and white. Plus you might need said visuals to understand what the song is about, best guess is that its about how even though love can be complicated, its worth going through. The one downside, the speed of the song. I have a feeling that it can be concerning to some and yes it does make Miku sound a bit more "robotish", or more like a computer program, because of the speed. Still a fun song to listen to though.

8) Solar System Disco

There is, to the best of my knowledge, a relatively new Vocaloid producer called Nyatualien. They made a few vocaloid songs like "Alien, Alien" and "Andromeda, Andromeda" both are good songs that almost made the list, however "Solar System Disco" made the cut not only because it is one of the best of the bunch in my opinion, but for how similar it is compared to the other two. One on hand, these songs do sound very similar, I almost tied this song with Alien. However, it has a lot more expressiveness with its rhythms and instruments. I love the tempo and the beat, and its so satisfying put all together. Again it does sound quite similar to the others which does give it some points taken, but you should definitely listen to this.

7) Senbonzakura

This is the first vocaloid song that I heard/played in one the actual games. When I first heard it, I loved the rock/classic Japan feel to the song. Plus, the keyboard sections really made it top-notch. Not to mention Miku's voice is so nice here, as with all of these songs. This song has this "action movie" feel to it, like its the music you hear when something big and exciting is going to happen. My only "complaint" with this song is that I heard the Chorus version with the Main 6 vocaloids (Miku, Rin, Len, Luka, Meiko, Kaito) and thought that was a bit better in how they utilized all of their voices toghether. However, that doesn't mean that this solo isn't any good, far from it. Not only is this one of the first songs I heard, it will always be one of my favorites.

6) Kocchi Muite Baby

Miku knows how to make a rock song. I like this song for the awesome guitars, drums, and kind of a classic rock style. Plus, if you've ever seen the music video for the Project Diva F game where she's in a band with her friends, you can really get the rock band feel for it. The song is a bit on the "girlier" side, but its still a fun "girl power" song to listen to. If you need a good "rock-pop" kind of vocaloid song, this is it.

5) Kimi No Taion (Your Heat)

A slower song, but still a good rock type song. The vocals from Miku are so pleasant sounding and fit the tone it sets. The instruments are so nice together and the tune is so catchy. For such an up tempo rock song, it feels really relaxing to hear, at least for me. From the sound, to Miku's vocals, to the visual style in PDX (Project Diva X), Everything about this song is really beautiful. Definitely worth a listen. Now I want to play Tearaway...

4) Kimagure Mercy

Remember Kocchi Muite Baby? Well take that song and give it a electro-pop feel, a faster tempo, and even more "Kawaii Steroids". You get Kimagure Mercy. As I mentioned the electronic/pop sound and instruments helps it give it the "girl power" feeling a bit more than KMB, that song made demands while this one makes a statement. This is especially true in Miku's vocals. The music is just as catchy and upbeat as ever, and just as fun to listen to. Plus, it is very much a dancing song. I can see a lot of people making routines to this song, especially because people already have. Seriously, finding an MMD of this easier than making ice, especially finding one based on Pokemon.,.
Nevertheless, Not only will you like this song, you're gonna want to get up and dance. (Okay, I will never say that again.)

3) Hibikase (Resonate)

This by far is my favorite electronic Miku song, probably my favorite electro vocaloid song period. The electro pop song tune does exactly what the title says it does, resonate in your mind. Miku's vocals are perfectly tuned so that way the electronic "autotune", if you really wanna call it that, is balanced where it still has a prominent place in the song, yet it doesn't get too distracting with how digitized it is. This is a good song to introduce someone to vocaloid music with. It is still an electro-pop song, so some might be turned off by it, but it doesn't deny how great the song sounds. Check it out for yourself.

2) Rolling Girl

The piano in the intro alone makes this song sound amazing. This song is so nice to listen to. It is way more instrumental than Hibikase, and that only makes it better. Like I mentioned, the Piano in this song sounds so great along with Miku's vocals. The song itself has an interesting story within it's lyrics. I do recommend watching the official video to see the story as I put the Project Diva music video. Again, if you are introducing someone into vocaloid music, this is a great intro song to get started. This is a real good song, but I can think of one better.

Honorable Mentions

PoPiPo
Ghost Rule
Shake it
Splatter Party
Party Junkie
Karakuri Perriot
Viva Happy

Sweet Devil

1) Liar Dance

This song sounds so beautiful. Miku's voice sounds perfect in this song. This song has a perfect blend of electric elements with beautiful sounding intsrumentals. The rhythm with this song sounds so good. I love this smooth jazz-like music and the beat is so catchy, and that saxophone near the end sounds amazing. Plus, If you like ballroom dancing you will love this song. The creator of this song is known as Deco*27 and this, to me, is some of his/her best work. I thought about either this song or the other song Ghost Rule, but this one is so much better. Despite the song itself being about a bad relationship, the song puts a smile to my face and its just a joy to listen to. If you have only one chance to let someone listen to a vocaloid song, it should be this one.

And that's it. Those were my top 10 Miku Songs, but I'm just one guy in the span of millions of fans. So let me know, Is there a song I missed? Should there be a song that should be taken off? What other songs should I listen to? Let me know in the comments. Thanks for reading, catch you next time.
